At the young age of 39, Yoselin Yvette Flores-Ipson, known lovingly as “Yoshi,” danced her way into victory with Jesus on January 16, 2026, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She courageously fought her battle with kidney cancer and remained an inspiration to all who encountered her—her faith and strength shining brightly until the very end.
Yoshi was born in Lubbock, Texas, on December 3, 1986, to Jose Orlando Flores and Idaly Cavazos-Flores, who dedicated her life to the Lord. She grew up in El Paso, Texas, before her family moved to Arlington. Yoshi was homeschooled and nurtured in her faith from an early age. She continued her education at Tarrant County College and later at The King’s University, where she earned a certificate in Biblical Studies.
On May 26, 2016, Yoshi married the love of her life, Joel Brannon Ipson. Their marriage was a living testimony of God’s design for love—patient, enduring, and selfless. Through seasons of joy and hardship, they clung to one another and to the promises of Scripture, finding strength in prayer and hope in the Lord’s faithfulness. Together, they built a beautiful family and were blessed with four children: Elijah Levi (6), Joshua Oliver (5), Judah Asher (3), and Elise Victoria (20 months).
Throughout her life, she wore many hats—but her favorite role by far was being a stay-at-home mom. Her greatest joy was nurturing her children and pointing them toward the love of Christ. Ever creative and hardworking, she later started her own cake business so she could continue caring for her children at home. Together with Joel, she created a home where the door was always open—filled with warmth, hospitality, and joy.
Since childhood, Yoshi’s heart had always been turned toward Jesus. She loved the color purple, cheeseburgers, and anything that sparkled—especially the stars. She embodied hospitality everywhere she went and could make a friend anywhere. She never sought the spotlight or worldly wealth; her family was her wealth, and her friends her treasure.
Yoshi lived with a quiet confidence, anchored in knowing she was precious to God. She loved with all her heart, believed with all her heart, and desired more than anything that others would experience the same assurance and joy that comes from a close relationship with Him. Christ was evident in Yoshi through the deep kindness, incredible hugs, and intentionality she showed to all who were blessed to cross her path.
Yoshi is survived by her devoted husband and their four precious children. She is also survived by her loving parents and her siblings, Michael Flores, Sara Zahn, and Nashelly Williams.
Yoshi will be missed deeply by all who loved her. May her legacy of love, faith, and joy live on in our hearts forever.
