William Speed, 91, of North Richland Hills passed away February 1 in Bedford, Texas.
Born October 5, 1925 in Brooklyn, New York to William and Emma Speed, he served as a pilot in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He graduated from Parks Aeronautical College.
After an almost 40 year career at American Airlines, Mr. Speed retired and became a volunteer at the C.R. Smith Museum.
Mr. Speed was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Louise Graepel Speed and daughter Joan Dancy; He is survived by his sons Bill and daughter-in-law Carol, Scott and daughter-in-law Carol Ann; grandchildren Jessica Carns and husband Christopher, Caitlin Weaver and husband Clint, Kelly Speed, Frank Devino and wife Tracy, Brad Dancy and wife Alexis, Joseph Speed and Katie Speed; great-grandchildren Hudson Carns, Campbell Carns, Nate Devino, Ella Devino and Caiden Dancy.
Memorial service to be held at a later date at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
