Memorial services for William Darrell "Bill" Potts Jr., 79, of Haltom City, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 19th at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller.
Bill passed away peacefully at his home on July 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 8, 1945, in San Saba, Texas, to William and Mary Helen Potts.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Bill was known for his quick wit, big heart, and strong-willed nature. He had a gift for making others laugh—especially his grandchildren—and never missed an opportunity to strike up a friendly conversation with anyone he met. His warmth and humor left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Bill proudly dedicated 39 years of his life working for the railroad before retiring. His work ethic and loyalty were evident in everything he did.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn Potts; his son, Joel Potts; his daughter, Amy and her husband Matt Newhouse; and his cherished granddaughters, Hayley and Alyson Newhouse.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mary Helen Walton, and his brother, Hal Everett.
He will be remembered with love, laughter, and deep gratitude for the many ways he touched the lives of those around him.
