William (Bill) Kenneth Benoy, 75, of Burleson, Texas, passed away on November 24, 2025. Bill was born
May 23, 1950, in River Falls, Wisconsin, to Kenneth Richard Benoy and Shirley Ann Erb. He moved to
Texas in 1956, where he built his life and made lasting friendships.
Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother who will be deeply missed by all who knew
and loved him. Even though later in life Bill faced many health challenges, including being a 15-year
kidney transplant survivor, he never lost his sense of humor—often saying, “The good life’s killing me!”
That spirit stayed with him and brought a smile to the people around him.
A hard worker and a true perfectionist, Bill took pride in doing things the right way—especially when he
had a project in front of him. He retired from Indicom Building, Inc. in Burleson in December 2013, after
more than a 25-year career there. Bill and his beloved wife, Jo Evelyn, shared a love of travel,
particularly cruises, and made countless memories along the way. They also enjoyed board games with
family—though Bill would be the first to admit he wasn’t always the best “loser,” which only added to
the laughter and stories that will be cherished.
Bill also enjoyed sports, including NASCAR and golf, and he especially loved watching his Green Bay
Packers on Sundays.
Bill is survived by his wife of nearly 36 years, Jo Evelyn Benoy (married November 30, 1989); his
daughters, Shellye Cobb and Krissy Phillips; his sons-in-law, Will Cobb and Scott Phillips; his
grandchildren, Corey Bailey (and wife, Lacy Bailey), Erin Cobb, Sydney Cobb, and Brady Phillips; his great-
grandson, Teller Bailey; his sister, Michelle Ann Sherley; and his aunts, Vonnie (Erb) St Peter of Hudson,
Wisconsin, Marilyn (Benoy) Strandquist of Hudson, Wisconsin, and Donna Benoy of River Falls,
Wisconsin, as well as many cousins and extended family. Bill was preceded in death by his parents,
Kenneth Richard Benoy and Shirley Ann Erb, and by his brother, Michael Arthur Benoy.
A Celebration of Life service will be held April 11, 2026.
