Willene Corder

February 27, 1943 — June 5, 2026

Ft. Worth

Frances Willene (Stuck) Corder passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 83.

Willene was born on February 27, 1943, in Stephenville, Texas, to the late Willie Hugh and Millie Frances Stuck. She grew up in Fort Worth, graduating from Northside High School before attending Texas Wesleyan College. On February 7, 1964, she married the love of her life, John Allen Corder, beginning an exciting 62-year journey together.

As a dedicated Air Force wife for 32 years, Willene embraced a life of adventure, moving her family across the globe to places like Hawaii, Turkey, Germany, and the Philippines. She seamlessly turned every new house into a warm home, anchoring her family through the unique demands of military life. Her love for exploration continued throughout her life, taking her to incredible destinations across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. She fearlessly took her children to do exciting things like ride camels to the pyramids in Egypt, fly to Hawaii to watch a volcano erupt, ride a dugout canoe to Pagsanjan Falls, and ski the Zugspitze. Even after her children had grown, she had many more adventures around the world with her family and friends.

Willene was a devoted mother and a vibrant presence in her community. She was a constant fixture at swim meets and soccer games, and she poured her heart into volunteering, frequently serving as a school volunteer and room mother. Her creative spirit shone through her love for gardening, sewing, and arts & crafts. She loved to laugh, treasured her time with friends, and found immense joy in her beloved "Porch Angels" group.

She was a member of White's Chapel Methodist Church for over thirty years, where she served in different ministries including as one of their first class of Stephen Ministers, offering comfort and care to those in need. Her relationship with Jesus Christ was reflected throughout every part of her life.

One of the greatest joys of her life was being grandma to Rachel & Dan and honorary grandma to Erik, Jenna, & Sarah Slikkerveer and Lindsay & Becca Floyd. She loved spending time with them doing crafts, baking, playing games, taking them to the playground, the zoo, & Six Flags, and just being a part of their lives as they grew up.

Willene is survived by her daughter, Teri Mumaw and her husband, Mike; her son, David Corder and his wife, Rajka; her granddaughter, Rachel Mumaw-Schweser and her husband, Noah; her grandson, Dan Mumaw; and her brother, Dean Stuck, along with many nieces and nephews whom she adored.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Allen Corder, who passed away just a month before her.

Willene will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, unwavering devotion to her family and friends, and remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome and loved. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched, the friendships she cherished, and the family she loved so deeply.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that memorial donations be made to White's Chapel Methodist Church to support its ministry of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in the community and throughout the world.  Please go to www.whiteschapel.org
