Virginia Marion Karegeannes

December 20, 1942 — November 5, 2025

Bedford

The world lost a precious soul on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, Mrs. Virginia Karegeannes, born Virginia Marion Ringl, affectionately known as Ginny. Ginny leaves behind her loving husband of 63 years, Maj. Gen. Harry G. Karegeannes (retired), three children, Jason (Kristan), Peter (Eileen) and Tara (Mike), eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and three sisters, Jeri, Marcia and Marian.

Ginny was born on December 20, 1942 to her parents, Fred and Martha Ringl. She was the youngest of five children and was raised in Hazel Park, Michigan, where she met Harry while working as the administrative assistant to the Adjutant of the Army Tank Automotive Command in Detroit, Michigan.

Ginny began her life with Harry as a military wife, where she navigated her family through 36 moves! She was gifted in hospitality and had a keen eye for interior design where she made each residence an inviting home for her family, friends and acquaintances. She was a gourmet cook and held many luncheons and socials for the women of command. She was a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program in Springfield, Virginia and ran the Red Cross volunteers' program in Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey as well as various other volunteer programs for Ft. Monmouth.

She was a dedicated wife and mother, strong, intelligent, and creative. Some little-known facts about Ginny are that she had a beautiful singing voice, she participated in a fashion show in Germany, she was an avid runner, running four miles a day, and enjoyed aerobics. Christmas was her favorite holiday, evidenced by carefully wrapped presents, beautiful decorations, and excellent food and pastries.

Most importantly, she was a woman of prayer, petitioning our good Lord and Savior for direction, help, protection, and wisdom for her family. She will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her beautiful spirit. May her memory be eternal and may the God of all comfort be with us during this difficult time.
