Loving Sister, Loving Mother, Loving Daughter
Virginia Brown of North Richland Hills, aged 67, passed from this life to the next on Monday, March 30, 2026. She will always be remembered as loving like Jesus toward everyone in her life: her family, her co-workers, and her church family. She was born on Saturday, March 14, 1959 to Douglas and Joyce Brown in Beaumont, TX. Virginia was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Brown Sr. She is survived by her mother, Joyce Brown, of Copperas Cove, TX; her daughter, Jennifer Pantoja, and three grandchildren: Joseph, Ava, and Jacob Pantoja of Pearland, TX. She is also survived by an older sister, Barbara Brown of North Richland Hills, TX and two younger brothers, Douglas Brown and wife Laurie of San Antonio, TX; and Richard Brown and wife Karen of Copperas Cove, TX. She will be missed by her niece and many nephews.
Jennifer came into Virginia’s life as an infant, and Virginia chose to be her mother and raise Jenn as her daughter. Virginia loved spending time with her grandchildren and they will always cherish the memory of baking Christmas cookies and listening to their grandma sing her favorite Christian hymns.
Virginia loved God and His Church. She was a founding member of Impact Houston Church of Christ in the inner city, and taught the baby class there for many years as well as Royalwood Church of Christ.. She had a servant heart and loved sharing life with others and was the kind of person who paid attention to the details of people’s lives. These last few years she has been involved with the Single Source class at the Hills Church. She loved baking and planning snack options for the class, as well as volunteering with the babies class during the summer. She also had lifelong heart for the homeless and took time to help them when she could.
Virginia loved her family and enjoyed visiting with her niece and nephews and extended family at all the family gatherings in Beaumont, Houston, and Copperas Cove. She especially enjoyed making Grandma Brown’s Stuffing, and lots of sweets for the holiday gatherings.
Virginia also loved to travel. She had a very good friend, Judy she met at Oklahoma Christian University, and they traveled every year, going to many different places around the United States as well as several cruises. Recently she spent a lot of time traveling with her sister Barbara going to Alaska, the Caribbean, and many other places around the US. She was able to travel frequently because she had a great work ethic and used her skills in cybersecurity for several banks.
She will be greatly missed but we look forward to seeing her again one day in Heaven. The Celebration of Life for Virginia will occur on Saturday, May 16, at 11:00 am at The Chapel at The Hills Church in North Richland Hills, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Impact Houston Church of Christ in Houston, TX at impacthoustonchurch.org/donate/, or to Humane World for Animals at secure.humaneworld.org
