In Loving Memory of Valentine (Val) Goldade

July 24, 1932 – September 14, 2025

Valentine “Val” Goldade, 93, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025, in Grapevine, Texas.

Born on July 24, 1932, in Timber Lake, South Dakota, Val was the son of Regina and Thomas Goldade. In 1953, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served honorably during the Korean War. His deep patriotism and unwavering love for his country remained a defining part of his character throughout his life.

On September 12, 1956, Val married his lifelong soulmate, Regina (Reg) Goldade. Together, they built a life rooted in love, family, and community. Val’s engineer’s mind and mechanical talents made him a natural problem-solver—whether he was tinkering with cars, fixing things around the house, or lending a hand to family with handyman projects.

Val was an accomplished mechanic and a business owner, operating two businesses in Mobridge, South Dakota for 42 years. In May 2000, Val and Reg retired to Rapid City, SD, where they enjoyed dancing, playing cards, camping, traveling, and enjoying the company of their many friends.

In his later years, Val found joy in attending Texas Rangers games, playing bingo, proudly outwitting his family in card games, and spending time with his family—especially during holidays and special moments with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Val is survived by his children, Jeff (Karen) Goldade, Valerie (Greg) Camillo, and Carmen Goldade; grandchildren, Cameron (Brian) McCarthey, Brent (Kendra) Goldade, Chris Goldade, Vincent, Nick, and Anthony Camillo; great-granddaughter, Madelyn Goldade; and great-grandsons, Grady Goldade and Benjamin McCarthy; brother, Tony Goldade; and sister-in-law, Connie Goldade.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Reg Goldade; his parents, Thomas and Regina Goldade; sister, Euphenia Scott; his brothers, Joe, Aloyisius, and Tayfield Goldade; son-in-law, Ken Puck; and grandson, Kenny Puck.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Lucas Funeral Home, 700 W. Wall Street, Grapevine, TX 76051. Burial will follow immediately at the Dallas–Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Val’s legacy of love, service, and dedication lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered
