Synthia Ruth Smith-Chandler

Syndie was born on July 27, 1959 in Denver, Colorado to Gerald L. and Patricia M. Smith of Bennett, Colorado. The family was transferred to New Orleans, LA in 1967, and again to Dallas, TX in 1970. Syndie would go on to graduate from L. D. Bell High School in 1977. She later became a Licensed Vocational Nurse through a program at St. Joseph's Hospital in Fort Worth, TX. She followed that with further education at El Centro College in Dallas and became a Registered Nurse. She enjoyed a lengthy career at John Petersmith Hospital in Fort Worth, rising to become the charge nurse on the night shift for many years. She followed that with several years in a similar capacity at Presbyterian Hospital in Flower mound, TX.

Syndie married Frank Chandler in March of 1999. They enjoyed life together until her passing.

Syndie is survived by her husband, Frank Chandler of Fort Worth, her mother, Patricia Smith of Bedford, TX, her father, Gerald Smith (and wife Shirley) of Taylorsville, KY, her brother Bill Smith (and wife Felicia) of Colleyville, TX, and 3 nieces, Jessica Curry (and husband Alex) of Clear Lake Shores, TX, Kylie Smith of Austin, TX, and Bailey Smith of College Station, TX.
