Susan June Douville, 73, of Texas, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026. She was born on April 5, 1953, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Charles Harville and Orda Harville.

Susan graduated from Northwest Classen High School with the class of 1971 and went on to attend Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree on May 4, 1984.

On July 9, 1984, Susan married the love of her life, William J. Douville. Together, they built a life centered around family, love, and countless cherished memories. Susan was the proud mother of Stephen Sean Lakin, born October 31, 1974, and later adopted her daughter, Brianna Suzanne Douville, on August 10, 2000.

Susan had a warm and generous spirit and found joy in the simple things in life. She loved reading, spending time with her family and friends, fostering kittens, scrapbooking, and participating in Bible study with her longtime high school friend, Donna Williamson. She especially enjoyed traveling with her husband and family. Susan also had a love of dance and took advanced dance classes while in high school.

Professionally, Susan dedicated many years to public service as a federal civil service manager before retiring. She will be remembered not only for her accomplishments, but for the love, kindness, humor, and devotion she brought to the lives of those around her.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Harville and Orda Harville.

She is survived by her beloved husband, William J. Douville; her son, Stephen S. Lakin; her daughter, Brianna S. Douville; her granddaughters, Christina M. Flynn and Kayla B. Lakin; her great-granddaughter, Nora Flynn; her brother, Kent Harville, and his wife, Barbara Harville; her brother-in-law, Robert W. Douville, M.D.; and nieces Amber Anderson, and Alison Maupin. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Susan's life was defined by the love she had for her family, her caring heart, and the many people and causes she touched throughout her life. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A graveside service honoring Susan's life will be held Friday, October 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in honor of Susan's love of children, reading, and giving to others.
