Susan Wilson Cruser

March 23, 1935 — June 14, 2025

Southlake, TX

Susan Wilson Cruser of New Hope, Pa., died on June 14, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on March 23, 1935, in Morrisville, PA to the late Francis Vaux Wilson, Jr., and Elizabeth Schneider Wilson, she was raised in Yardley, Pa. alongside her four siblings. A graduate of Villa Victoria Academy in Trenton, Sue broadened her horizons early on, traveling to Europe with her sister Fenn to study abroad. Upon returning to the United States, she began her professional career at IBM, making the daily train commute from Yardley to New York City.

Sue married the late George Edwin Cruser on May 27, 1961, at Trinity Cathedral in Trenton, beginning a devoted partnership that flourished for 59 years. She is survived by her four children – George Jr. (Lynn) Cruser, Robb (Laura) Cruser, Susie (Mike) Holliday, and Richard Cruser – and twelve beloved grandchildren. In 1973, the family made their home on a historic 32-acre property in rural Upper Makefield Township where Sue created a home filled with warmth, laughter, hearty meals, and unconditional love. While George commuted to New York City each workday, Sue managed a lively household that included horses, chickens, dogs, cats, gardens, and four kids – and in the midst of it all, still found time to attend college, earning an accounting degree from Trenton State College (now The College of New Jersey) – proof of her sharp mind, strong work ethic, and grit.

Sue loved quilting and cheering for her Eagles and Phillies – rarely missing a game on TV. In retirement, she and George traveled extensively, visiting grandchildren in Georgia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Texas, and seeing more of the world together. Even so, her happiest moments were spent with her family, whose lives she touched through countless moments of love, wisdom, and care. She will be greatly missed.

Sue’s interment will be beside George at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Juniata College for the George E. ’52 and Susan W. Cruser Endowed Scholarship, online at www.juniata.edu/give or by mail to Juniata College, 1700 Moore Street, Huntingdon, PA 16652.
