Sue Cherry Britt

January 17, 1950 — May 3, 2026

North Richland Hills

Sue Cherry Boughton Britt passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, in North Richland Hills, TX, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. Born on January 17, 1950, in Dallas, Texas, Sue’s life was full of joy, resilience, laughter, faith, and love for others.

Determined and hardworking, Sue earned her accounting degree from Houston Baptist University while raising three young children. She worked full time while still managing to have dinner on the table each night for her family. She approached motherhood and work with dedication, sacrifice, and a servant’s heart, always putting the needs of others before her own.

Sue was truly the life of the party. She loved gathering with family and friends, finding reasons to celebrate, and making people laugh. Her warmth, sincerity, and sense of humor drew people to her. She never took herself too seriously, and even when life was not easy, Sue chose joy. Her strength and resilience carried her through every chapter of her journey.

Above all, Sue loved the Lord. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she looked forward to heaven with peace and confidence. Robert and Sue were longtime members of Fellowship Riders, where they built cherished friendships that remained an important part of their lives for decades. Her beliefs were not only something she held deeply, but something she lived out in service to others. Stepping far outside her comfort zone, she traveled to Haiti on a mission trip to serve people in need, reflecting the compassion and faith that shaped who she was.Though she battled Alzheimer’s disease for more than five years, the illness never defined her. Throughout it all, she maintained her spirit and grace. Her husband, Robert, cared for her with extraordinary devotion and tenderness during her illness, faithfully walking beside her every step of the way.

Sue found beauty everywhere in God’s creation. She loved flowers, trees, and feeding the birds. She delighted in the small details of nature and could recognize God’s creativity even in the delicate wings of a butterfly.

Sue was the youngest daughter of Geraldine and Robert Lane Cherry, both of whom preceded her in death.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Britt; her children, Chris Boughton; Robert Boughton and his wife Amy and their children, Brooke and Barron; and Brandy Rumpler and her husband Tim and their children, Britt and Olivia. Her grandchildren were the absolute lights of her life. She is also survived by her stepsons, Stephen Britt and his wife Wendi, and Sean Britt and his wife Cristy, along with six step-grandchildren she dearly loved: Spencer, Boston, Alyssa, Keira, Orion, and Emerson. Sue is also survived by her loving sisters, Linda Young and her husband Jon, and Judy Hickman and her husband Harold, as well as nieces and nephews whom she adored.

Sue will be remembered for her unassuming strength and her sacrifices, made with a tender heart that never sought recognition, only the happiness of those she loved. She will be deeply missed and remembered for her kindness, beauty, her joyful and feisty spirit, and her love for the Lord.
