Steven Russell, 76, of Burleson, Texas quietly passed away while surrounded by family on
February, 20, 2026 after a battle with cancer.
Steven was born on February 6, 1950 to Charles Joseph Russell and Pauline (Rinks) Russell in
Fort Worth, Texas. He graduated from Burleson High School and went on to enlist in the US Air
Force.
Steven proudly served and retired from the Air Force after 29 years as an aircraft mechanic. He
enjoyed all types of sports and shared his passion as a hot air balloon pilot with his family.
Steven was a man who held strong in his Christian faith. He loved and cherished spending time
with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by parents Charles and Pauline Russell; his brothers Charles Russell,
Michael Russell and Roland Russell as well as his brother-in-law Jimmy Richardson.
Left to cherish his memories and carry out his legacy are his three daughters, Stephanie Naylor,
Amber Cole and Natalie Russell; his sister Brenda Richardson; grandchildren Valerie Russell,
Hannah Dickerson, Kayla Naylor and Maya Powell, and his beloved great-grandchildren Rowan
VanDeveerdonk, August Dickerson and one on the way, Baby Dickerson due in September.
A service will be held at a future date at the National Cemetery, where full honors will be
presented for Steven’s service to this country.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
