Sharolynne Brown Cowart

February 16, 1940 — June 9, 2025

Euless, TX

With great sorrow, we announce that Sharolynne Brown Cowart, 85, of Euless, Texas gained her angel wings on the morning of June 9th, 2025.

Sharol was born in Columbus, Ohio on February 16, 1940, to her parents, the late James R. Brown and Margaret Ellen Brown. Sharol moved with her parents several times, living in Buffalo, Detroit and Akron before landing in Fort Worth, TX in 1961. Everyone who met Sharol quickly discovered her quick wit, her sassy view of life, and passion to make sure everyone is happy and blessed.

Sharol’s career ranged from working as a telephone operator, school cafeteria lunch lady, owning her own sand and gravel business, and finally retiring from Chase Bank after 25 years.

Sharol had several passions in life, including reading, pottery, quilting, sailing, baking, and hot-air balloon land crew. Her love of reading led her to travel across the country and the world with friends, staying in hostels in San Fransico, New York, Scotland, and Ireland. One of her greatest adventures, fueled by the book Aku Aku that she read as a young girl, led to her trip to Easter Island. She also had a passion for giving, often volunteering for church, 4-H in Saginaw, TX, knitting hats for street people, knitting prayer shawls, working at the First Grapevine Methodist Church’s Thrift Shop, and feeding the homeless at The Slab.

Sharol is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Brooks and her husband Chad of Denton, TX, grandchildren Zachary Matthew Brooks of Bozeman, MT and Taylor Abigail Brooks of Denton, TX; her son Randy Cowart of Jordan, MN; and her sister Suellynne (Suzi) Guckel and husband Dick Guckel of Grapevine, TX.

A service to celebrate Sharol’s life will be at First Grapevine Methodist Church, in Founders Chapel 422 Church Street, Grapevine, TX at 11 AM on Saturday, June 14th, 2025. The family requests that attendees wear color for the celebration of life due to Sharol’s love of color.

In lieu of flowers, and to honor Sharol’s memory, memorial donations may be made to First Grapevine Methodist Church Endowment and/or the Benevolence Fund.
