In Loving Memory of
Sela Lupe Ofa Ki Funga Sia Foliaki
February 12, 1950 – October 15, 2026
With hearts filled with sorrow, love, and gratitude, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and family matriarch, Sela Lupe Ofa Ki Funga Sia Foliaki, entered eternal rest on October 15, 2026, at the age of 76.
Born on February 12, 1950, in Neiafu, Vavaʻu, Tonga, Ofa was the eldest child of the late Tapenisa Fipe Fetuu Finau Lapota and the late Sosaia Siamu Lapota. Her Tongan heritage, Catholic faith, and devotion to family shaped the life she lived and the legacy she leaves behind.
Ofa was a beloved sister to the late Sione Fine Teumohenga (TX), the late Vai Lapota (Tonga), Kaloafu Lapota Vehikite (NZ), the late Linita Lapota Loamanu (Tonga), Pauline Lapota (NZ), Tukuafu Teumohenga (Tonga), Lopiseni Teumohenga (Tonga), and Melini Lapota Vakameilalo (Tonga).
For 54 years, Ofa shared her life with her beloved husband, the late Sione Leo Foliaki. Together, they faced life’s joys and challenges, building a family grounded in love, faith, devotion, and perseverance. Just 24 days after her husband’s passing, Ofa was called to eternal rest. Their earthly journeys ended within weeks of one another, bringing comfort to their family in the hope that they are reunited in God’s presence.
Ofa was a devoted mother to Carolyn (Sailosi) Faletau, the late Uate Foliaki, Lesili (Beatrice) Foliaki, and Fipe (Tevita) Uhatafe.
She was a cherished grandmother to Pensimani, Vaimata, Charlotte, Manutu’ufanga, Lucia, Johnmikal, Kailee, Jeremiah, Sione, Rejoice, Victory, Mauhau, Lesili, and Shae. Her love continued through her great-grandchildren: Seti, Levaite, and Uate Faletau, Anau, Charlie, Sailosi, Elizabeth, and the late Baby Hale Wight.
A devoted Catholic and faithful parishioner of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Bedford, Texas, Ofa drew strength from prayer, faith, and her Tongan heritage. She will be remembered for her strength, generosity, resilience, and steadfast care for her family. Her sacrifices, guidance, traditions, and unconditional love will remain a lasting blessing to all who knew her.
Together in life. Reunited in Heaven. Forever in our hearts.
