Sarah Ann Mehl, 38, of Burnet, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on October 28, 2026.

Bron on January 13, 1988, Sarah grew up on Grapevine, Texas. Her childhood was filled with family gatherings, adventures with her cousins, and countless memories made with neighborhood friends. Though life took her in different directions over the years, she eventually made her home in Burnet, Texas, where she married and welcomed her son, Rhyder. Sarah treasured the memories and relationships she collected throughout her life, with those early years holding a particularly special place in her heart.

Sarah had a personality that could fill a room and a laugh that was impossible to resist. She was convinced that she was the funniest person wherever she went, and more often than not, she managed to convince everyone else, too. She had an extraordinary memory for the smallest, most ridiculous details of stories long forgotten by everyone else. She told those stories again and again, laughing just as hard the tenth time as she had the first, and somehow making everyone around her laugh right along with her.

Sarah had strong opinions and never hesitated to share them. She loved fiercely, laughed freely, and had a way of making her presence known wherever she went. She carried people and memories with her throughout her life, often picking up the phone out of nowhere to reconnect over a story, a photograph, or a moment from years before. The friendships she formed growing up in Grapevine remained meaningful to her, long after she left, and she held a special place in her heart for those who had been part of her life’s journey.

Whether she was sitting on a patio surrounded by family and friends, driving with the music turned up, or convincing someone to join her in making a completely ridiculous video, life with Sarah was rarely quiet and never dull. Her dogs held an especially important place in her heart. They were far more than pets to Sarah; they were family, and she loved them with her whole heart.

Of all the things Sarah loved in life, nothing compared to her son, Rhyder. Being his mom was a source of tremendous source of pride and joy, and she loved sharing in the moments that made him happy. Some of their happiest times were spent driving together through wildlife parks, laughing as curious animals reached into the car and stole food right out of their hands. She was endlessly proud of Rhyder and loved him with everything she had.

If you knew Sarah, chances are you have story about her; a story that still makes you laugh, brings a smile to your face, or reminds you of a moment you didn’t realize would mean so much someday. Though her time here was far too short, the laughter she inspired, the memories she created, and the love she carried, will remain for years to come, for those who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved son, Rhyder Glaeser; her father, John Mehl; her mother Julie Johnson and stepfather, Bill Johnson; her sister, Laura Mehl; her brother, Michael Mehl and sister-in-law, Rachel Mehl; and her nieces and nephews, Ariea Mehl, Gunnar Mehl, and Leo Mehl; along with many cherished, extended family members and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother, John Mehl; her grandparents, Dortha Coalter, Clifford Litzenberger, Oscar Mehl and Garnet Mehl; and her uncle, Jim Mehl.

A funeral service honoring Sarah’s life will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2026 at 2:00 pm, at the Living Word Lutheran Church, 2031 W. Northwest Highway, Grapevine, Texas 76051.
