Samuel Dean Fulton, whose life was a testament to kindness, dedication, and joyful spirit, passed away on March 31, 2026. Born on September 21, 1956, in Longview, Texas, Samuel lived a full and vibrant life, marked by a generous heart and a quick wit that endeared him to all who knew him.
A successful design engineer at Equipto before retiring, Dean brought the same meticulous care and passion to his work as he did to all other facets of his life. His professional achievements were matched only by his deep commitment as a father and grandfather. He imparted to his children and grandson the virtues of hard work and dedication, not through mere words but through example. Over the years, those lessons grew into a rare friendship, as he shared with David, Bailey, Logan, not only guidance but laughter, stories, and an enduring bond.
Dean’s kindness was as natural as breathing. Welcoming and warm, he had a gift for making others feel at ease, often lightening tense rooms with his great sense of humor. Always the joker, he relished moments of cheer and connection. These qualities extended into his love for animals—a soft spot that colored many of his days. From caring for a resilient three-legged dog in his youth to sharing quiet companionship with his beloved cat Chip in later years, Dean’s nurturing spirit shone through.
His interests painted a picture of a man who found joy in craftsmanship and tradition. An avid enthusiast of working on and restoring guns, he reveled in the hands-on challenge and the bond this hobby fostered with his family. The clinks and clicks of cherished firearms were the soundtrack to many treasured memories spent together in the embrace of kinship and the great outdoors.
Dean’s life was cherished by many and will be deeply missed by his son, David Fulton (spouse – Emily Turner), daughter Bailey Fulton (spouse – Mitchell Cadungog), grandson Logan Fulton, and brother, Jack Fulton (spouse - Judy Fulton), and sister, Jan Fulton. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Paula Fulton, and his parents, Nancy and John Thomas Fulton.
A visitation will honor Samuel’s memory on April 18, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed immediately by a Celebration of Life from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Both services will be held at Lucas Funeral Home in Grapevine, Texas, located at 700 W Wall St, where friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a remarkable man whose legacy of love, joy, and resilience continues to inspire.
Samuel Dean Fulton’s journey through this world reflected the very best of human spirit — a life well-lived, shared generously with those fortunate to know him. His story remains a guiding light, forever etched in the hearts of his family and friends.
