Samuel Smith Evans

March 19, 1959 — August 19, 2025

Northlake

Samuel S. Evans, 66, of Northlake, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, after a brief illness. He was surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on March 19, 1959, in Wichita, Kansas, Sam was the fourth son of Dr. Grant E. Evans and Montana F. Evans, Ph.D. He graduated from Wichita Southeast High School in 1977 and went on to attend the University of Kansas, where he joined the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. A proud and lifelong Jayhawk, Sam was a passionate fan of KU sports.

In 1978, Sam moved to Dallas, where he began his career and met his future wife, Tracey. They were married on May 31, 1987, and in the years that followed, they welcomed their children, Sammy and Emily. Sam excelled professionally, graduating from NADA school, earning numerous awards, and eventually becoming a managing partner at Sport City Toyota.

Sam was known for his love of conversation, especially about his beloved Jayhawks and Cowboys, cars, politics, and coffee. More than anything, he was most proud of his children, Sammy and Emily, and cherished their time together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grant and Montana, and his brothers, David S. Evans and Dr. Stephen F. Evans.

Sam is survived by his former wife, Tracey A. Kost; his children, Samuel C.

Evans and Emily M. Evans; and his brother, Grant R. Evans.
