Ryan Hughes

Jeffrey “Ryan” Hughes was born August 13, 1982 in Lewisville, Texas. He passed away unexpectedly on July 30 at his home.

Ryan was diagnosed at the age of 3 with diabetes. After years of living with the consequences of this terrible disease he was recently able to obtain what he said changed his life. He was able to better control this disease, it didn’t control him. Ryan had a tough adult life but it all changed when he reconnected with Kady, an old friend. After moving to Illinois for a time to get to know Kady again they moved back home in September 2021. Along with getting his diabetes under control he found a great job at DHL where he was promoted to lead and won some awards. A big perk was the fact that Kady was also hired. Ryan was a hard worker and he enjoyed helping others succeed. They soon found a home and life was good. They loved attending concerts (sometimes they let Mom tag along) and they loved to travel. Ryan was reunited with his daughter Rose and the times they shared were wonderful. His house was a house full of love.

Ryan could be serious but he was also a jokester. He loved to laugh and he made others laugh. He would send his father funny videos to watch. One of his favorite shows was Impractical Jokers. He would have fit right in on that show. He also liked Shark Tank and cheered for the Mavs and the Cowboys. (belonging to a KC Chiefs family, he cheered for them as well.).

Ryan had a huge heart and would help anyone at any time. He loved his family and would drop what he was doing if they needed him. He shared a love of music with his Mom. They texted songs to each other and talked about upcoming concerts. He liked his music loud!

Ryan leaves behind his wife Kady, the love of his life. Their time together was too short. He is also survived by his parents, Ken & Penny Holmes and Jeff Hughes. Ryan’s sisters Jennifer and Andria will miss him dearly. He was father to Rose, Aiden and Briley and step dad to Chase and Bella. He had nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, his Grandfather “Pops” and a lot of friends new and old. All will miss him very much.
