Ruth Ann McDonald

Ruth Ann Went to be with Jesus on Monday, May 25, 2026.

She was born in Paragould, AR, to Oliver & Vicky Hays.

Ruth Ann enjoyed school, social life, but most of all dancing and was a proud Bulldog graduate of Paragould High School Class of ’61.

Ruth Ann attended Beauty School in Jonesboro, Arkansas and soon after married her sweetheart Darrell in February 1963 and they began their life and family in Memphis, TN where they welcomed four beautiful children.

Ruth Ann proudly had a 60 year career as a hairdresser, spanning Tennessee, Arkansas, and eventually settling in Texas. Owning multiple salons along the way where she created countless memories and lifelong friendships.

Her family wishes to thank her faithful clients which she treasured throughout the years.

Ruth Ann is survived by her 4 children — Tracy and Shane Schutza, Kelley McDonald, Steve and Holli McDonald, and Jennifer and Greg Boland. 10 grandchildren: Casey, Tanner, Colby, Blake, Jordyn, Kaitlyn, Dylan, Madison, Lexie, Luke, and 18 great-grands along with many nieces and nephews who lovingly referred to her as “Sissy”

Ruth Ann was a woman of many passions but none surpassed her love of a full home with home cooked meals, an open door, music, and laughter. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sharing recipes, all things Elvis and never met a slot machine she didn’t like.

Ruth Ann was devoted to her family and her faith and will be missed by many.

If she had one last wish it would be that all would come to know the Lord, and that her family would remain together forever.
