North Richland Hills, Texas

Ronald Michael Silvia Sr., 77, of North Richland Hills, Texas, passed away on July 11, 2026.

Born on May 18, 1949, in Boston, Massachusetts, Ronnie moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, with his family when he was three years old. Growing up there, he developed the strong work ethic, practical skills, and deep sense of community that would guide him throughout his life.

He built a career through a variety of electrical and mechanical trades, working for several companies throughout the years, including Southwestern Bell, Lockheed Martin and General Dynamics. He was known as someone who could fix just about anything and took great pride in helping family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers whenever they needed a hand. His shop was filled with every imaginable tool, each one collected with the hope that it might one day help solve someone's problem. If something was broken, Ronnie was the person people called.

Above all, Ronnie was devoted to his family. He shared 46 wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Lisa Bowden Silvia, where they built a home and legacy as active members in their community. He took immense pride in raising his children, instilling in them the values of hard work, integrity, and service to others. He devoted countless hours to coaching his sons in football, baseball, basketball, and many other sports, while encouraging each of his children to pursue their passions and always taking great pride in their accomplishments.

Whether he was known as Papaw or Poppy, a title affectionately debated between the oldest and youngest grandchildren, he cherished every one of his grandchildren beyond measure. He found his greatest joy in supporting them, never missing an opportunity to cheer them on at ball games, musicals, school events, and life's many milestones. His unwavering love, encouragement, and proud presence were gifts his grandchildren will carry with them forever.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Silvia; his children, Stephanie, Stacey, Steven, Ryan, Blake, and Brandon; 11 cherished grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews who will all miss his generous heart, steady presence, and willingness to lend a helping hand.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Otto Silvia and Irece Chaumont; his sister, Jo Ann Olivera; and his beloved son, Ronald Michael Silvia Jr.

Ronnie will be remembered most for his kindness, his resourcefulness, and the countless ways he served those around him. His legacy lives on in the family he loved, the lives he touched, and the example he set of hard work and generosity.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
