December 19, 1946 – September 11, 2025

Whitt, Texas - It is with great love and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert Williams, 78, of Whitt, Texas. Robert was called home to be with his Lord and loving Savior on September 11, 2025. We have no doubt he was welcomed into Heaven with open arms and the words "well done, good and faithful servant."

Born on December 19th, 1946 in Cleburne, Texas, Robert was the son of Robert “Mutt” Williams Sr and his wife Jean. He graduated from Keller High School and served in the U.S. Army. Upon completion of his service, Robert returned home to Keller, Texas and met and married his beloved wife, Carole in January 1970. He graduated from Tarleton State University where he was an integral part of the university’s rodeo team, later competing professionally as a bull rider in the Central Rodeo Association and International Rodeo Association. For many years, Robert taught agriculture in high schools across north Texas. He worked as a Field Representative and Youth Director for Santa Gertrudis Breeders International beef cattle association and as a Field Representative for Beefmaster Breeders United. He had great passion for Beefmaster cattle and spent many years raising his own Beefmaster herd.

Robert’s life revolved around his family, friends and faith. He was a devoted husband for 55 years. Carole was the love of his life and together they were such an example of a Christ-centered marriage. He leaves as a legacy his loving sons, Wes and David, and their wives, Dana and Amy. He cherished his role as "Papa" to Grace, Phoebe, Bekah, Wade, Riley, Reese and Wyatt, his seven precious grandchildren who were great joys of his life. He was an adored brother and brother-in-law to Bobbie Sharpless, Donna Williams, Richard “Dicky” and Quanna Williams, Wanda and Jim Fulkerson, Ronald “Ronny” and Lynette Williams and Roy and Barbara Williams. More than just relatives, members of the “Willliams Clan” were lifelong friends who shared the adventures, joys and sorrows of this life.

Robert was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, and his love for the Lord was evident to all who knew him. Although we mourn his passing, we find peace and strength knowing that he is face to face with his gracious and merciful Savior Jesus Christ.

"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." Rev. 21:4.

A service celebrating Robert’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 19th, at Smithfield United Methodist Church, with visitation from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 18th at Lucas Funeral Home, Keller, Texas.

We would also like to extend our thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at MD Anderson Cancer Center who fought side-by-side with Robert.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
