Robert Felps House, 79, of Grapevine, TX, passed away on October 30, 2025, at home as he wanted, with his wife holding his hand.

Robert was born January 25, 1946, in Ballinger, TX the son of James Melton House and Mary Emeline Riggs House. He attended Santa Anna, TX schools in the early grades. The family moved and he graduated from Ballinger High School in 1964. He graduated from Electronics Technical School in Austin, TX and then attended Angelo State College in San Angelo, TX.

Robert married Karen Sue Carruth on August 16, 1969, at First United Methodist Church of San Angelo, TX. They met in a college class and were married for 56 years and counting.

Robert’s immediate home family consists of spouse, Karen House; children, Samuel Kane House and Fiancé Kacy Burke, Amanda Kathleen House-Kisselburg (deceased) and husband Jack Kisselburg; grandchildren, Joe Kisselburg, Lillian Kisselburg, Beau House, and Bex House.

Robert’s hunting family included many friends over the years, but in the adult years, the core group was JM House, Harold Dawson, Robert House, Robert Penny, Larry Barnes, and Michael Lonsberry. It is appropriate that Robert passed just in time for opening day in Heaven.

Robert began his career as an installer with Automatic Electric Company and worked many locations, including a six-month school in Chicago providing specialized knowledge that led to his future in the industry. He had the opportunity to move to the affiliated company General Telephone and Electronics (GTE), which later became Verizon Communications. He was most proud of the work his group did in long-range planning in the North Texas area. The shift into project management was exciting for him also. After early retirement from Verizon, Robert provided contracted services through Cosmic Solutions. Then Robert and Karen (dba Cosmic Dreams Inc.) became the Texas Representatives for RevTrak, a new company in a new industry providing specialized electronic card processing services to governments. He enjoyed the interaction with new people and the intrigue of a new and growing business sector. He was the ultimate salesman.

Robert and Karen had the early years, the motorcycle years, the kids years, the boat years, the ski years, the business years, the grandkids years, and every year was a hunting and fishing year. Everywhere they lived, they found neighbors who became friends. But the Grapevine “Hood” has been the strongest and longest. There have been so many neighbors and parties within these few blocks. But always there have been multiple dear friends who all look out for each other.

Robert believed all people should be treated with respect, and he demonstrated that belief with his actions. He was always willing to help anyone. Robert’s grandfather and father taught him how to be self-reliant and inventive with equipment. He called himself “The Last Guy”. For any problem someone had, Robert had the tool, or the ingenuity to come up with a solution.

Robert was a Brother and Past Master of San Angelo Masonic Lodge 570. He incorporated Freemasonry’s teachings into his life. His highest goal was to be a Good Man, and he succeeded.

Memorial services will be held November 8, 2025, at 10 AM at Lucas Funeral Home in Grapevine, TX.
