Robert “Bob” Lee Harmon, a father, grandfather, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully in the Ft. Worth, Texas on April 30, 2025, at the age of 85. He was born July 2, 1939, in Dallas, Texas.
Bob was a man of many passions, and a true entrepreneur. Throughout his life he had many careers and started many companies. Some of his careers included a commercial pilot, travel agent, private investigator, insurance sales, car sales, realtor, mortgage loan officer, VA Chaplain, pastor, paralegal and founder and president of DFW School of Law, currently, Texas A&M School of Law.
Bob served as a helicopter pilot in the United States Army. One of his passions was education. He had such a strong desire for knowledge that he accomplished numerous degrees over his lifetime, including a Bachelor of Science from Texas Wesleyan College with a major in Social Science, Juris Doctor from Texas Wesleyan School of Law, and a Master of Divinity from the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, along with many others.
Bob was involved in many civic organizations. Over the years he was a member of the Colleyville Lions Club. He was also a Master Mason and a 32nd Degree Mason, (Scottish Rite Free Mason.) His desire to serve and make a lasting impact, led him to be heavily involved in Rotary International, the largest service organization in the world. Over his years of service with Rotary, he became a member of numerous local Rotary Clubs, including Grapevine, Colleyville, and the DFW Airport Provisional Rotary. Bob chartered the Eagle Mountain Saginaw Rotary Club and he was very proud to receive the coveted Paul Harris Fellow Award on numerous occasions. Whether Bob was giving to the Rotary Foundation or to someone he found in need, he truly exhibited and lived the Rotary motto, “Service Above Self.”
Bob is survived by his daughters, Deborah Brittain and her husband, Steve, Elizabeth Parr and her husband, Dan; as well as his grandchildren, Shelby, Luke, Caleb, Lillian Brittain, and Daniella Parr; he is also survived by two nieces and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Frank and Ina Mae Harmon, as well as his brother, Joseph Frank Harmon, Jr.
Services to celebrate Bob’s life are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 2, 2025, at the Lucas Funeral Home Chapel, Hurst, Texas. In appreciation of Bob’s service to our Country, services with military honors will be held at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas at 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 2, 2025.
