With deep reverence and immense gratitude for a life well lived, we honor and remember Robert “Butch” Freeman, who departed this world on June 27, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on March 7, 1945, Butch was a beacon of dedication, warmth, and strength whose influence will endure in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
Butch’s journey began with his graduation from Haltom High School in 1963, an early milestone that set the foundation for an industrious and community-minded life. Later, in 1985, together with his devoted wife, Kay, he founded Keller Trophy & Awards—a venture born of their shared vision and steadfast determination. Over the years, this family enterprise grew into a cherished institution within the community, its reputation built upon the pillars of integrity and hard work that so characterized Butch himself. In 1995, their son, Scott, joined the family business, stepping alongside his parents and eventually taking the mantle of ownership. The pride of their shared labor was evident when, in October 2025, Keller Trophy & Awards joyously celebrated its 40th anniversary—a living testament to Butch’s enduring spirit and the unity of his beloved family.
Beyond his professional achievements, Butch was a man of many passions. He was never happier than when immersed in the beauty of the outdoors, pursuing the quiet thrill of hunting, the vitality of snow skiing, or the exhilaration of water skiing. Yet perhaps nothing brought him more delight than working on his beloved 1963 Chevrolet Corvair—a treasured companion through the decades and a symbol of his patient devotion. As a proud member of the North Texas Corvair Association, he found camaraderie and shared joy among fellow enthusiasts, bringing an infectious enthusiasm to every gathering.
For 61 years, Butch shared his life with his beloved wife, Kay Freeman—an extraordinary partnership marked by steadfast love, mutual respect, and countless memories forged side by side. Their bond was the cornerstone of a family that grew to include their son, Scott, daughter-in-law, Julie, and cherished grandson, Chase, who brought him boundless pride and joy. In addition, he is survived by Kay Freeman, whose presence brought comfort to his days. Though the Freeman family mourns the loss of their beloved patriarch. They find solace in remembering his late parents, Bruce Owen Freeman and Ouida Langston, and his sister, Kathryn Huggins, whose memories remain forever entwined in their hearts. Those fortunate enough to know Butch will remember him for his unwavering integrity, his ready smile, and his willingness to lend a generous hand to friends, colleagues, and neighbors alike. His legacy lies not only in the thriving family business he nurtured but also in the everyday kindness and gentle humor he shared so freely.
A celebration of life to honor Robert “Butch” Freeman’s life will be held on July 3, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. All are welcome to gather and pay tribute to a life marked by devotion, generosity, and a profound love for family. Please contact Scott Freeman via text message at 817-939-8184 or email, mscottfreeman01@gmail.com for the address.
As we say farewell to Butch, we carry forward the lessons he imparted through example: to approach life with diligence, to invest in those we hold dear, and to meet each day with a spirit of gratitude. Though he is gone from our sight, the memory of Robert “Butch” Freeman will forever illuminate the lives he touched.
