Richard Keith Blatchley

Richard Keith Blatchley, aged 54, of Boyd, Texas, passed away on May 10, 2024, in Decatur, Texas. He was born on August 26, 1969, in Dallas. He graduated from L.D. Bell High School in 1987. He spent the majority of his 35-year career in school bus transportation. He worked for MV Reliant Transportation with Northwest ISD and for Durham School Services serving 13 school districts, primarily Crowley, Lewisville and Lubbock. He started as a fuel boy and worked his way up to being the General Manager.

He married his wife of 28 years, Karen, on November 11, 1995. They met on Karen's first day at Durham in 1992. They lived in Lewisville, Corinth, Lubbock and finally, in Boyd. He loved travel, Star Wars, James Bond, military history, golf, dogs and being with his family, especially on vacations & holidays.

Richard was preceded in death by his step-father, John Land. He is survived by his wife, Karen, their sons, J.R. and Brandon of Boyd, TX and MMN3 Kyle Blatchley of Goose Creek, SC, mother Georgia Land of Hurst, TX, father Reed Blatchley of Tomball, TX and other cherished family and friends.

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to the American Red Cross in Richard's name.
