Rebecca Lynn Petross

January 20, 1971 — February 21, 2026

Hurst

"Rebecca “Becky” Lynn Petross, 55, of Hurst, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 21, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 20, 1971, in North Tonawanda, New York.

Becky was many beautiful things in this life — a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished daughter and sister, treasured friend, respected COO, talented quilter, and devoted lover of books. To her two precious granddaughters, she was affectionately known as “BeBe” — never Grandma, as she would quickly remind you she was far too young for that title.

She was an active member of several book clubs and quilt guilds, where she shared her creativity and passion with others. Becky had a deeply charitable spirit and a remarkable way of recognizing the needs of those around her and quietly meeting them. She was a tremendous animal lover, with a heart big enough to hold them all.

Even after her cancer diagnosis, when she began to understand the difficult road ahead, Becky’s thoughts were not of herself, but of others. In true Becky fashion, she declared that as soon as she was able, she would adopt a golden retriever named Honeycomb and train her as a therapy dog to bring comfort to patients facing trying times in hospitals.

Becky brought joy wherever she went. She had a gift for making everyone around her feel happy, included, and deeply loved. Often the life of the party, she was hardworking, unbelievably determined, selfless, empowering, encouraging, and hilarious. She lived with humility and steadfast integrity. She was loyal, extraordinarily kind, and incredibly brave. Becky was happiest when surrounded by her family, who meant everything to her.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Jason Petross; her daughter, Haili Jones and husband Marc, and their daughter, Logan Jones; her daughter, Danyelle Snead and husband Joel, and their daughter, Silver Snead; and her son, Brian Petross. She is also survived by her loving mother, Shirley Allein; her sisters, Linda Fukuoka and husband Tatsuo, Deborah Epler and husband Joe, and Pamela Khun; her dear aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; and her cherished cats, Miss Kitty and Kit Kat.

She was preceded in death by her father, William “Bill” Allein and his wife, Genave, as well as her cherished dogs, Buddy and Kenny.

A memorial service celebrating Becky’s beautiful life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Church of Christ, 4201 Heritage Trace Pkwy, Fort Worth, TX 76244.
