Raymond E. Moore Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025, at Baylor Medical Center, at the age of 78. Born in Silver City, New Mexico on October 1, 1946, to Raymond and Mary Moore, Ray lived a full and meaningful life defined by devotion, warmth, and a deep love for family and friends.
Ray attended Carter Riverside High School before enrolling at the University of Texas at Arlington, where he was a proud member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He enjoyed a fulfilling career at PPC/Reuters, where he spent many years building not just professional success but close, lasting friendships that have endured.
He had a passion for photography, sports, and his home. A loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, Ray never missed a game, but when it came to sports, nothing gave him more joy than watching his grandson, Graysen, on the soccer field. His love extended to his home, where he enjoyed working in his yard and took great pride in nurturing the plants and flowers that brought life to his yard. Ray also had a deep affection for animals—his beloved dogs, Bear & Rusty, were beloved members of the family.
Above all, Ray treasured time with his wife, Nita. Their travels together created cherished memories that enriched their life and love. His family meant everything to him, and his presence will be deeply missed.
Ray is survived by his loving wife, Nita; his children Bryan (Tara) Moore, Micki Chipman, Mandy (Dan) Moise; his son-in-law, Billy, husband of his deceased daughter, Raquel; his grandchildren Allison, Chloe, Carson, Ethan, Charlotte, Graysen, and nephew Trey. He was preceded in death by his parents Ray & Mary; sister Karen; children Andy, Raquel and Daniel; brother-in-law Robbie & nephew Brandon.
A memorial service honoring Ray’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Lucas Funeral Home, located at 1321 Precinct Line Rd, Hurst, TX 76053.
Interment to follow at 12:30pm at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park, located at 5725 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville, TX 76034.
