Mr. Piers Emanuel Kidd-Spence, age 75, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on November 22, 2025 while under nursing care, following a courageous medical journey.
Born on April 29, 1950 in Hanover, Jamaica, he was the beloved son of Rosetta Spence and Mansel Kidd.
Piers graduated from the University of Technology, Jamaica (formerly the College of Arts, Science and Technology) in 1973, where he laid the foundation for a lifelong career in electrical engineering with a focus on telecommunications. Furthermore, Piers graduated from the University of Phoenix in 2005 with his Masters in Business Administration. His dedication to his work, his curiosity for how things functioned, and his love for innovation were trademarks of his professional life.
Beyond his career, Piers was a man of creativity and expression, passionate about music and photography. He captured life through lenses and rhythms - preserving moments, telling stories, and filling rooms with sound and energy. He held deep ties to his community and was a proud member of the Cornwall College Old Boys Association.
Piers was preceded in death by his mother Rosetta, father Mansel, brother Headley and sister Judith. He is survived by his loving wife, Bobslyn Kidd-Spence, his daughters Jody Kidd-Spence and Janelle Obroku, son-in-law Moses Obroku, and grandson Runo Obroku, who brought him immeasurable joy. Piers is also survived by his sisters Isis, Joyce, and Rose, brothers Barton and Neville, and a large extended family of cousins, nieces, and nephews who will carry memories of him forward with affection and reverence.
Visitation will be held at Lucas Funeral Home on December 11, 2025 at 6:00 PM.
A funeral service will follow on December 12, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Fellowship of the Parks Church, where family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to support cardiac amyloidosis research, a cause close to Piers' journey.
