Penelope Jean King was born a twin (the oldest!) to Chris Argus and Lois Martha Barton on April 22, 1949 in Chicago, IL. Little did they know that “Penny” would become one of the leading prayer warriors and life changers of her generation!
During Penny’s too brief time on this plane, she was many things and she excelled at them all via her faith in Christ Jesus. Christian, Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Mimi, Mother In Law, Church Member, Church Founder, Nancy Drew Fan Club president, surrogate mother to many and a ray of divine light to all she came in contact with - these were just a few of her accomplished roles. An incredible businesswoman as well as a skilled artisan (including dabbling in RV painting), she helped keep her family and church afloat spiritually, financially and emotionally. We, her family, and so many friends, will never forget her tireless example in all of these things and will reach it to the next generation - including Mimi’s legacy as a true and virtuous, Christian warrior.
Penny was succeeded in meeting her Savior Jesus by her beloved husband of 36 years, John Paul King Sr - we know he welcomed her home to heaven where they were reunited in holy perfection! Penny leaves (for a time) grateful and joyous relatives here on Earth including her children John Paul King, Jr, Jeffrey Barton King, Lauren Ashley Davila their spouses (Meghan, Kirstin and James “JD”, respectively), her grandchildren Vaelen Flint King, Perrin Oak King, John Paul “Tripp” King III and Harlow Grace Davila. A bonus granddaughter - Michelle Evans blessed Penny as well! Penny’s twin sister Pamela “Pammy” Scoville and her sons John Walsh and Matt Scoville also mourn their aunt’s passing.
Penny, Mom, Mimi’s faith was as strong as oak, and there is no doubt that she is today in heaven being “rewarded…according to her labor…as a co-worker in God’s service…” (1 Cor 3:8-9). WE LOVE YOU MOM/MIMI/PENNY/PEN-PEN - ALWAYS!!! Thank you, Mom!!!
