Oran Herschel Fry

Oran Herschel Fry, 87, of Quitman, Texas entered into rest surrounded by family on December 11, 2024.

Oran Herschel Fry was born on August 2, 1937 as the second child of Oran Henry and Gladys Freeman Fry in Colleyville, Texas, and was raised in the Smithfield, Texas area. He married Evelyn Joyce Hanna January 29, 1955 and remained married for 64 years until Evelyn entered into rest October 2, 2019. 

Herschel served our nation as a member of the National Guard from 1953 to 1961. Then after 33 years at Delta Air Lines, he retired in 1989 to his farm in Quitman, Texas. All his life, Herschel enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling and golf. 

Herschel is preceded in death by Wife, Evelyn Joyce Fry; Father, Oran Henry Fry; Mother, Gladys Freeman Fry; Sister, Martha Wilson; Sister, Vonda Roe.

He is survived by Daughter, Bessie Marie Romick and husband Keith of Columbus, Kansas; Sons, David Fry and wife Rose of Houston, Texas and Troy Fry of Quitman, Texas; Sister, Lavada Thompson of Watauga, Texas; Four Grandchildren, Christina, Richard, Leah, and Jake. Nine Great Grandchildren, Numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
