O.J. Holler (87) passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, with his family lovingly by his side.

O.J. was born on August 18,1938 in Oklahoma City, OK to Raymond & Ella Holler along with his siblings, Raymond Eugene & Nancy Sue. He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1956 with awards in music and drafting. After graduating high school, O.J. served his country in the United States Navy for 6 years. He went on to study theology at Independent Baptist College in Dallas, TX, graduating in 1966.

Upon graduating college, he pastored his first church in Homedale, ID, where he also served as an ambulance driver and paramedic. After pastoring churches in ID & OR, O.J. and his family found their home in Grand Junction, CO where he pastored the Mesa View Baptist Church for 15 years. He was very active with church youth groups and enjoyed directing youth camps with various churches.

O.J. had a unique ability to make everyone around him feel at ease with his quick wit and humor. His passion and love for music and his joyful voice in song brought comfort and inspiration to many. He was known for his strong will, his unwavering determination, and love and support for his family. He was clever and full of knowledge gained through life experiences. He could fix or build anything. He delighted in the art of drafting and his affinity for working with wood and mechanical items brought him great satisfaction. A man of curiosity and adventure, O.J. cherished traveling worldwide, with his unforgettable journey to Israel being the pinnacle experience that enriched his soul.

Above all, O.J. treasured the time spent with his family. He shared a beautiful marriage of 66 years with his devoted and beloved wife, Darlene. Together they built a legacy rooted in love and faith. He was a proud father of his daughter Teri and son Russ.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene, daughter, Teri McHargue (Boyne), son, Russ Holler (Sherri), sister, Nancy Sue Fuller, 7 grandchildren: Nikki Huhndorf (Brandon), Whitney Torsell, Natalie Scott (Blaine), Alyson McHargue, Kendall Mercado (Mario), Landon Holler, Kaden Holler and 8 great-grandchildren: Tessa, Oliver, Cooper, Tylan, Beau, Hank, Leo, and Maya.

O.J. was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Holler, his mother, Ella Holler, and his brother, Raymond Eugene Holler.

Those wishing to honor O.J.’s memory are invited to attend the visitation on May 21, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Lucas Funeral Home in Grapevine, TX, followed immediately by a Celebration of Life from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Later that day, at 4:00 pm, O.J. will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City, OK

O.J. Holler’s life was a radiant testament to kindness, faith, and enduring love. He leaves behind a world touched deeply by his gentle spirit and unwavering devotion. He will be profoundly missed yet forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew him.
