Nora, our sweet sunshine girl, filled every room she entered with joy, laughter, and life. She was only three when she was taken from us, but she had a way of making the world brighter simply by being in it.
She was a proud “silly goose,” always quick to remind everyone around her that they were a silly goose too. Nora was incredibly smart and endlessly curious. She loved learning new things, asking questions, and sharing what she discovered. She took great pride in being a big sister, a role she embraced with love, playfulness, and just the right amount of sass.
Nora found joy in the simplest and sweetest moments. She loved crafts, playing outside, picking flowers, singing songs, and spending time with her baby sister, Nellie. She delighted in “helping” with anything around the house, swimming, doing puzzles, and reading. She especially enjoyed getting into her mom’s makeup and baking in the kitchen. Nora never met a stranger. She loved people deeply and would happily strike up a conversation with anyone she met.
She had a special love for snacks and noodles in all forms, especially macaroni and cheese. Her hobbies included dancing, bossing her little sister, going to Sunday school and sharing everything she learned, and playing at the park where everyone quickly became her friend. Trips to the science museum and zoo were among her favorites, especially visiting the hippos and petting the goats.
Nora knew she was beautiful, but more importantly, she knew who made her beautiful.
She leaves behind her loving parents, her baby sister, and a large family who cherished her deeply.
Though there are no words to fully express the depth of our heartbreak or how deeply we miss her, we take comfort in knowing that our Nora does not miss us. She is safe in the arms of our Creator and Savior, who loves her even more than we do. She is dancing and singing before the King of Kings, and one day we will be reunited with her again. This life is temporary, but the Kingdom of Heaven is eternal.
“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them. — Mark 10:14–16
