Nina Vernice "Thackerson" Wolfe Aug 12, 19 32 — Sep 2, 2026 Nina Vernice "Thackerson" Wolfe, 94, went home to be with the Lord on September 2, 2026, after a long and meaningful life. 

Nina was born on August 12, 1932, to William Vernon and Dessie Mae "Newsom" Thackerson at their home in Purvis, TX. Growing up she had 2 sisters, Donna Lea "Thackerson" Van Schuyver Thompson, and Lenda Rea "Thackerson" Stringer.

 Nina married the love of her life, James Herman (J.H) Wolfe, on November 5, 1949, in Ft. Worth, TX. They eventually settled in Newark and had 4 strong boys, James Anthony “Tony” Wolfe, Wesley Kelvin Wolfe, Troy Glen Wolfe, and Roger Gene Wolfe, and many others whom they treated as their own. And from this love grew 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and several folks who adopted Nina and Herman as their parental figures, mentors, grandparents, and role models, and all of whom are special to them. 

Nina was a retired nurse, who worked at All Saints Hospital in Ft. Worth, TX, and she served diligently in her church before mobility became a challenge. 

Nina Vernice "Thackerson" Wolfe passed into eternity on September 2, 2026. She is survived by her sister Linda "Thackerson" Stringer of Azle, her son Troy and wife Michelle “Finch” Wolfe of Decatur, her son Roger and wife Donna “Traynor” Wolfe of Newark, her Daughter-in-Law Arlene “Ashmore” Wolfe of Newark, her nephew Lonnie and wife Doll “Roper” Van Schuyver of Newark and numerous other nieces and nephews.She is also survived by her grandchildren: James Anthony Wolfe Jr. of Keller, Brandie Rochelle Wolfe and husband Guillermo Acosta of Ft. Worth, Christopher Kevin Wolfe of Keller, Debra Nicole “Wolfe” Nesbitt and husband J.D. Nesbitt of Newark, Johnathan Caleb Wolfe of Ft. Worth, Leslie Michelle “Wolfe” Stacey and husband Joshua Stacey of Seymour, Lauryn Suzanne "Wolfe" Graham of Rhome, Jenniffer Michelle Wolfe of Harrah, OK, Ethan Augustus Gray Wolfe of Bowie, and Morgan Lene Wolfe and husband Peter Wolbach of Midwest City, OK, 20 great grandchildren, and several other loving great nieces and nephews, family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Herman (JH) Wolfe of Newark, sister Donna "Thackerson" Van Schuyver Thompson of Keller, her son James "Tony" Wolfe of Keller, her son Wesley Wolfe of Newark, and her great grandson Josiah DeWolfe of Newark. 

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, TX. The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2026 , with visitation on Friday, September 11, 2026 , from 6:00-8:00 pm Lucas Funeral Home Chapel; burial will follow at Aurora Cemetery in Aurora, TX.
