Nelovea Johnson Gann, 96, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017.
Funeral: 11:00 AM Friday at Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ in Arlington. Interment will follow at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington. Visitation: 6-8:00 PM Thursday evening at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst.
Nell was born March 27, 1921 in Ellis County to the late W.H. and Bertha Johnson. She earned a Bachelor degree from Texas Wesleyan and then a Master’s in Education from TCU. Nell taught grade school for 35 years in the Fort Worth School District before retiring.
Nell was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Gann; son, Steve Gann; brother, William Johnson; and sister, Thava Corbin.
Survivors: Son, Marcus Gann and wife Olivia; daughter-in-law, Melody Gann; grandchildren, Marcus Gann, Jr, M.D. and husband Joey Scaletta, Matthew Gann and wife Courtney, Amy Kidd and husband John, and Andrew Gann and wife Kim; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Mittie Lou Wigington; and sister-in-law, Edith Faye Johnson.
