Mimi Dee Jones

Mimi Dee Jones, born on August 23, 1963, in Atlanta, Georgia, left this world on September 6th, 2025, at the age of 62. Mimi was a remarkable soul that embraced life with an open heart and an unyielding spirit. Her journey through life was marked by many achievements, both personally and professionally as she touched the lives of countless other with her boundless kindness and generosity.  

With nearly three decades dedicated to her career at C.D. Smith, which later became part of Amerisource/Cencora, Mimi built a reputation for excellence. Starting her tenure on May 6th, 1996, she demonstrated an unwavering commitment to her work, earning accolades that highlighted her extraordinary talents. Notably, she was recognized as the three-time Quarterly Point of Care winner and the two times Yearly Regional Point of Care winner. Her accomplishments were not simply professional accolades; they were a testament to her diligence and dedication.

Mimi was not only a committed professional but also a loving mother to her daughter, Sarah Jones. The relationship they shared was filled with precious moments and deep memories. Sarah fondly remembers the “mystery trips” they would take together, where simple outings transformed into adventurous escapades ranging from feeding ducks in the park to indulging in ice cream cones at a place that affectionally called the Big Pink Ice Cream Cone. 

Mimi’s love for life extended beyond family. She enjoyed collecting Beanie Babies, spending sunny days at the park reading, and immersing herself in her favorite TV series and movies. Her personality was characterized by her selflessness; she consistently placed the needs of others before her own and strove to uplift those around her. Many regarded her as a mother figure, embracing not only her family but also friends with affection and warmth only she could give. 

Education was an important cornerstone of Mimi's life. She earned her Business Administration degree from Perimeter College in Georgia, followed by a degree in Computer Science from Oklahoma State University in 1995 and 1996. Later, she pursued further studies to obtain an Onboarding Degree, always thirsting for knowledge and growth.

Mimi was known for her dedication to the church, where she inspired others with her unwavering spirit of giving. The kindness that radiated from her left a lasting impression, making her a cherished presence in the lives of many.

She is survived by her loving daughter Sarah Jones, her beloved friends Roger and Brenda Anderson, Madison, and the many sons and grandkids she unofficially adopted over the years. While her grandparents and parents have passed on, Mimi’s legacy is carried on by those who cherished her, ensuring her vibrant spirit will continue to shine in their hearts.

As we bid farewell to Mimi Dee Jones, we remember her as a beacon of light and kindness in an often-chaotic world. Her laughter, love, and unwavering support for those around her will always be remembered and celebrated. Though she may no longer walk among us, her impact on our lives will forever resonate, inspiring us to love deeply, give generously, and cherish every moment.
