With heavy hearts, we share the unexpected passing of Michael Clifton Reedy, age 38, on June 25, 2025. Michael was not just a dedicated Captain with the Roanoke Fire Department but also an incredible husband, father, and friend. He gave nearly 18 years of his life to protecting and serving the Roanoke community, always showing loyalty, honor, and a heart full of service.
Born in Graham, Texas on September 5, 1986, Michael spent his childhood in Wichita Falls before graduating from Northwest High School in Justin, Texas, in 2005. He followed his dad’s footsteps into firefighting, first volunteering with the Roanoke Fire Department in 2007, and becoming a full-time firefighter in 2008. Over the years, his hard work and dedication led him to the role of Captain, where he was not only a respected leader but also a mentor to many. Michael also made time to be a Commander for the Roanoke Fire Department Honor Guard and participated in the “Klownz on Fire” program, where his humor and enthusiasm helped teach fire safety to kids in the community. He loved sharing his knowledge and was always eager to help others grow, especially through his role as a fire instructor in North Texas.
Michael’s belief in Jesus was the foundation of everything he did and shaped his actions, his relationships, and his commitment to serving others. His trust in God’s plan was evident in the way he lived his life, and he leaves behind a powerful legacy of faith, hope, and love. But more than anything, Michael’s life was defined by his love for his family. He married the love of his life, Christina Brannen, on July 24, 2010, and together, they built a beautiful family. Michael’s eyes would literally glow with pride whenever he spoke of Christina, his soulmate and best friend, and their two amazing sons, Kyle and Ryan. He absolutely adored being their dad. Whether they were gaming together, tossing around the football, or he was in the stands cheering them on at their games, Michael was there. Every moment with his family was a treasure.
Michael’s sense of humor was truly one of a kind. He had a playful way of teasing that was always full of affection, making those around him laugh with ease. Whether it was a light-hearted jab or a silly comment, he had a gift for brightening anyone’s day. His jokes weren’t just about getting a laugh—they were a way of showing love and making everyone feel important. Michael’s teasing was always gentle, never mean-spirited, and was one of the many ways he expressed how much he cared.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Tammy Lou Walker Burgess, and his grandparents Clifton Walker, Betty Walker, Dorothy Walker, Jimmy Reedy, and Joann Reedy. He is survived by his loving wife, Christina; their two sons, Kyle and Ryan; his parents Danny & Dianna Reedy; his parents-in-law Kevin & Laurie Brannen; his brother Andy Reedy & fiancée Kristin Sholl and their children Abby, Austin, and Bodhi; and his sister-in-law Angela Lunder & husband Alex. Michael’s extended family, countless friends, and his brothers and sisters in the fire service will forever cherish his memory.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Well Community Church in Argyle, Texas. A funeral service will follow on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the same church, with a graveside service at Roselawn Memorial Park, immediately following.
