Michael Ray Daniels

Michael Ray Daniels of Bedford, Texas, passed away on August 27, 2026, at the age of 80.

Born on January 18, 1946, in Fort Worth, Texas, he was the third of seven children to Jack Daniels and Byrl Tyrone. Michael "Butch" spent his early years in Eastland County and graduated from Eastland High School. He honorably served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He graduated from Life Bible College, received a bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University, and earned a master’s degree from Amber University.

He loved the Lord and the highlight of his career was providing faith-based counseling for families and friends of the Foursquare Church. Michael was a true Texas gentleman, and those who knew him will fondly remember his love of storytelling and playing guitar for his family. He had a passion for baseball and loved fishing, but he found the most joy in spending time with his family and friends.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Karen Jones Daniels; and his children, son Michael Jay Daniels, and daughters Aimee Walker and husband Brian, Raegan Mauer and husband Adam, and Kelly Orozco and partner Zander Martin; his grandchildren, Alex, Jake, Seth, Heath, Graham, Hannah, and Ben; and his great-grandchildren, Jaxten and Ayden. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Family, friends, and loved ones are invited to celebrate Michael’s life at a memorial service to be held in October. Additional details will be announced at a later date.
