Melody Alycia Roland

With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we share the passing of Melody Alycia Roland, who left this world on July 22, 2026, in Roanoke, Texas, at the age of 35. Born on November 28, 1990, in Fort Worth, Texas, Melody—affectionately known as Mel to those closest to her—brought a light and warmth into every space she entered.

Melody’s journey through life began in Fort Worth, where her spirit of adventure and creativity was evident from a young age. Her dedication to education led her through San Jacinto, Bivins, Robert E Lee Northside, Horace Mann, Barbara Bush Ranchview, and Mary Grimes. She continued her path of learning at UTI and Amarillo College, embodying a curiosity and drive that constantly inspired those around her.

Music was woven into the fabric of Melody’s soul. A lifelong lover of melody in every sense, she poured her heart into playing the violin, cello, and drums, filling her home and the lives of her loved ones with songs that linger in memory. Her hands were just as skilled working beneath the hood of a car as they were drawing bowstrings or drumsticks, showcasing the same devotion, craft, and care she offered to so many other facets of her life.

Those who knew Melody speak most often of her laughter—a sound as infectious as it was genuine. Mel had an undeniable gift for making people laugh, able to draw smiles with a quick-witted joke or a heartfelt story. She could walk into any room, find a friendly face or a stranger, and begin a conversation that instantly eased the mood and created connection.

As a mother, Melody’s devotion was unmistakable. She cared deeply for Jaliyah, Jalissa, and Aleanna—her daughters and her world. She worked tirelessly and selflessly, shaping their lives with her love, resilience, and gentle wisdom. Her legacy will live on in them, in the spark of her spirit shining in their eyes and in the values she so gently instilled.

Melody is survived by her father, Kenneth Maurice Roland; her beloved daughters, Jaliyah Nicole Lynn Roland, Jalissa Rocha Lopez, and Aleanna Rocha Wood; and her treasured brothers, Kendrick M Roland, Kendra N Roland, and Darius J. Roland. As the family mourns her absence, they also remember her late mother, Cynthia Lynn Daniel, whose loving influence and presence were always felt by Melody.

Melody’s love, her laughter, her creativity, and her beautiful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the gift of knowing and loving her. She touched countless lives, and the imprint she leaves will never fade—a testament to the enduring power of her kindness and joy.

A graveside inurnment will be scheduled at Llano Cemetery and the family is requesting everyone bring a single red rose.
