Mary Needham Smith, age 72, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on March 19, 1954, in Amarillo, Texas, to Louis and Marjorie Needham, Mary lived a life rooted in faith, family, and love. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose presence brought comfort, strength, and joy to all who knew her.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Jessie Smith; her children, Candice Watson husband Eric, Valerie Burke husband Dave, Stephanie Smith husband Will, and Greg Smith wife Hollie. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Theresa, Christina, Rebecca, Dalton, Dylan, Shane, Gregory, Ian, and Aubrey, and was blessed with numerous great-grandchildren whom she cherished deeply.
She is also survived by her brothers, Bobby Needham wife Shirley and Sammy Needham; her sisters, Betty Seabolt, Rita Hemphill husband Michael, and Pam Dawson husband Tim; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Needham and Marjorie Needham; her brother, Robert Needham; her sister, Judith Ellis; and her beloved grandchildren, Dakota Smith and Baby Smith.
Mary’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was deeply devoted to her church and found great comfort and purpose in serving the Lord. Her unwavering faith guided her through life’s joys and challenges and was an inspiration to those around her.
She found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. Mary loved crocheting beautiful gifts for family and friends, baking for those she loved, and cheering on her grandchildren from the sidelines at their sporting events. She treasured time spent traveling with family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished for generations.
Above all else, Mary was the glue that held her family together. Her home was a place of warmth, acceptance, and unconditional love. She had a remarkable ability to bring people together, offer encouragement during difficult times, and celebrate life’s blessings with those she loved. Her kindness, strength, and generous spirit touched countless lives.
Mary leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and family that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that her love and influence will remain with them always.
