Mary Katherine Arnold

Mary Katherine Arnold (Crosslin), passed away on September 20, 2026, in Grapevine, Texas, at the age of 90. She was born on September 1, 1936, in Manchester, Tennessee, and lived a life marked by warmth, devotion, and a deep love for family.

Mary was welcoming, warm, and kind, and her life centered on those she loved most. She was always on the go, bringing energy and care into the lives around her. A dedicated member of Edgemont Baptist Church in Shelbyville, Tennessee, she carried her faith with quiet constancy and lived in a way that reflected her generous spirit.

She found joy in the simple and meaningful pleasures of everyday life. Mary loved to cook and was especially known for her biscuits, coleslaw, and sausage balls. She loved animals of all kinds and took special delight in feeding the deer that came by to visit. Christmas held a special place in her heart; she treasured her decorations, happily watched Christmas movies again and again, and each year carefully kept track of the films she watched in her journal. She also enjoyed taking her nieces to garage sales and, from time to time, making a trip to Winstar Casino. The music of Conway Twitty and George Jones was among her favorites and surely formed part of the familiar soundtrack of her days.

Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sam Arnold; her parents, Leana Pearl Crosslin and Jim Crosslin; and her brothers, Kenneth Crosslin and Jimmy Crosslin.

She leaves behind a family who will carry her memory forward with love: her sister, Geneva Mitchell; her nephews, Mark Neece and Mark Neece Jr.; her nieces, Rose Harris, Pam Pearson, Jessica Pearson, Melissa Terry, Heather Schoepf, and Jeanette Brazzil; and her cherished fur baby, Boots. She will be remembered in the stories shared by family, in the recipes and traditions she loved, and in the many small kindnesses that made people feel at home in her presence.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Lucas Funeral Home - Grapevine, 700 W Wall St, Grapevine, Texas 76051. She will be interred in her family plot at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Shelbyville, Tennessee, next to her husband, Sam.

Mary Katherine Arnold will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered for the warmth she gave so freely, the joy she found in everyday moments, and the steadfast love she shared with her family and friends.
