Mark Albert Olsen

Mark Albert Olsen, age 70, passed away on December 23, 2025. Born on August 30, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois, to George and Lois Olsen.

Mark proudly served in the United States Air Force for three and a half years as an aircraft mechanic, a role that set the foundation for a career in aviation. Following his military service, he continued working as an aircraft mechanic for 24 years, spending the majority of his career with American Eagle Airlines, where his dedication and strong work ethic were well known.

In 2008, Mark transitioned to retail sales, working at Lowe’s and Walmart, where he remained until retiring in 2018.

In his prime, Mark was very active and deeply involved with his family. He especially loved coaching soccer for his daughter, a role he took great pride in. Known for his fun and outgoing personality, Mark was always cracking jokes and never afraid to be a little goofy, bringing laughter to those around him. He enjoyed gardening, bowling, shooting pool, playing bingo, and watching football—always cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and the Detroit Lions.

Mark is survived by his loving wife, Lorrie DeMott-Olsen; his daughter, Dana Goforth (Grant), and his grandson, Elliott; his step-son, Christopher DeMott; and his step-daughter, Tonya Reyes-Dickerson (Lonnie), and his grandson, Damian Reyes.

He is also survived by his step-father, Eric Nayback; his brothers and sisters: George Olsen, Joyce Pfeiffer (Johnny), Glenn Olsen (Karen), Jan Burdette, Jeanne Shamblin (Dale), Robert Olsen, and Julie Gwin (Randy); his step-siblings: Kim Schultz (Dennis), Cindy Berens (Craig), John Nayback (Debbie), Ben Nayback, and Jeff Nayback (Annmarie); as well as many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m., at Lucas Funeral Home, located at 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst, Texas 76053.

Mark will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and the laughter he brought into every room he entered.
