Margie Stone

Margie Sue Sheegog Stone of Garland, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, at the age of 73.

Born in Fort Worth, Texas, on November 18, 1952, Margie attended Richland High School before starting her college studies at Texas Women’s University in Denton. For her sophomore year she transferred to Texas Lutheran University where she met Greg Stone, who would become the love of her life. After returning to TWU Margie and Greg were married on May 25, 1974, and Margie graduated with her degree in Social Work in 1975. She spent her professional life working in hospitals and nursing homes, dedicated to helping people navigate life’s many changes.

Margie was a kind and supportive mother whose love was felt by everyone she came into contact with. She cared deeply about her family and loved her grandchildren more than anything. Friends remember how her home was always open and welcoming and anyone walking through the front door felt comfortable and cared for.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Matta Lou Sheegog of North Richland Hills, Texas.

She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Greg; children Danny, Erin, and Andrew; and eight grandchildren. A Celebration of Life for Margie will be held Friday, January 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst, Texas.
