In Loving Memory of Margarita D. Salas
Margarita D. Salas, a resident of Burleson, Texas, and formerly of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on June 19, 2026, at the age of 68.
Margarita was born on September 28, 1957, in Santa Barbara, Mexico, to Juan and Justa Galaviz. She was the eldest of two daughters and was raised and educated in Juárez, Mexico. She carried with her throughout life the strong family values, determination, and resilience that shaped her character from an early age.
On May 1, 1987, Margarita married the love of her life, Gilbert Salas Sr. Together they built a loving home and raised five children, creating a legacy that continues through their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Margarita was known for her strong will, determined spirit, thoughtful nature, and caring heart. She always put others before herself and found joy in helping those around her. She loved traveling, attending yard sales, spending time with family, watching her novelas, shopping, cooking, and entertaining loved ones. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she enjoyed attending services at St. Ann Catholic Church.One of her favorite sayings was, "Enjoy life this is not a rehearsal."
She is survived by her loving parents, Justa and Juan Galaviz; her devoted husband, Gilbert Salas Sr.; her children, Hector Devora, Geraldo Ibarra, John H. Salas & Wife Mabill Salas; Gilbert Salas Jr. & Husband Thomas Salas;and her chosen daughter, Alexia I. Hernandez.
She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren:

Margarita was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Melissa Devora; her grandmother, Ines Ibarra Vda. de Devora; her mother-in-law, Mary Garcia & her beloved family pet, Tiffany Salas
Her family and friends will forever remember her strength, generosity, unwavering love, and dedication to those she held dear. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Forever 68.
