Lynn Basden
Burleson, Texas
December 17, 1956 – October 25, 2025
Lynn Basden of Burleson, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 25, 2025, at
the age of 68.
She loved making flip-flops match every outfit (in every season), Antonio’s chicken enchiladas
(with jalapeños on the side), Motown music, jewelry, Sonic tea with extra ice and three Sweet’N
Lows, gift-giving, buying in bulk, New York City, musicals, Hallmark movies, concerts, travel,
and everything Christmas.
Above all else, Lynn loved God and she loved people. She touched countless lives and carried
God’s love wherever she went, sparking JOY at home and around the world. She gave freely to
others, handed out little Jesus figurines to share hope, and poured her heart into everyone she
met.
To know Lynn was to know joy, but to be loved by Lynn was to feel love straight from Heaven.
Her faith was steadfast and she loved her people fiercely. If you were blessed to be loved by her,
you never had to wonder; she showed it in everything she did.
She was deeply rooted in her church at First Baptist Burleson, where she was surrounded by her
children and grandchildren, singing at the top of their lungs every Sunday.
Lynn was born on December 17, 1956, to Marvin and Jimmie Cartwright and graduated from
Joshua High School in 1975. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Scott
Cartwright.
She is survived by her children Daniel and wife Amber, Kyle, Lyndi and husband Murrel,
Simon, Alex and wife Makenzie; nephew Jacob Cartwright and wife Vanessa; nieces Amy
Cartwright and Kasey Stricklin (soon-to-be Murray!); and her beloved grandchildren Finley,
Brody, and Keaton Basden.
Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Burleson on Thursday, October 30th, from 6:00
to 8:00 PM.
Her Going Home Celebration will follow on Friday, October 31st, at 2:00 PM, also at First
Baptist Burleson.
Lynn’s heart was forever tied to the children of Guatemala. In lieu of flowers, the family requests
memorial donations to Eagle’s Nest Children’s Home, a ministry that captured a special part of
her heart.Eagle's Nest Children's Home
