In Loving Memory of Lyndal W. Tharp

The passing of Lyndal W. Tharp is a great tragedy for all who had the privilege of knowing him. A true force of nature, Lyn possessed so many gifts and talents it would be impossible to name them all.

Ranching and building were his main passions and proudest accomplishments. He loved traveling the world, collecting antiques, art, and artifacts, and had a notable interest in gardening. Lyn also cherished his early years at Braniff Airways, where he formed lifelong friendships that he held dear.

At the family ranch, Lyn carried the weight of four men's work. He gave of himself tirelessly, enduring injuries and hardship without complaint, simply to preserve the ranch for his parents. His sacrifice, grit, and devotion spoke volumes about his character.

What made Lyn most special was his deep love for family and friends. His generosity of spirit, willingness to help, and kindness endeared him to all. He never met a stranger, and his open heart touched countless lives.

I had the honor of sharing my life with him as his partner and spouse for 42 years, and we were married on February 11, 2014. We were inseparable, and his devotion and love will forever be missed.

Family was always closest to Lyn's heart. He honored his mother, Ruth Tharp, and cherished the memory of his late father, Vernon Tharp. His bond with his sisters-Mary Golden, Kay Adams, and especially Irma Holloway-was unbreakable, and he adored his nieces and nephews, celebrating every one of their accomplishments with pride.

Lyn's good taste, sense of humor, and ability to bring fun into any situation never went unnoticed. His charm and ease could bring a smile to anyone. His thoughtfulness, kindness, and generosity left a lasting mark on every person he encountered.

Lyn was unique, irreplaceable, and truly could do anything he set his mind to. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him. And I knew him well.
