Lucretia Burney Williamson, age 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Avalon Memory Care in Keller.
Lucretia was born on July 2, 1938, in Centralia, Illinois to W. B. “Dub” and Alla Mae Burney. She grew up in Odessa, Texas graduating from Odessa High School in 1956. She then graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science degree. In 1969 Lucretia started a Kindergarten program at First Baptist Church in Grand Prairie. She later taught second grade in the Grand Prairie ISD until she retired in 1998.
Lucretia married Herman Williamson on September 14, 1978. Lucretia, with three boys from her first marriage, became a loving mother to Herman’s two boys from his first marriage.
Lucretia was very active in church and along with Herman taught a Sunday school class for singles for many years. She was also very active in ABWA, Woman's Club of Grand Prairie, Rejebian Book Club and Nottingham Neighbors. Herman and Lucretia founded Complex Printing, Inc in 1981 and she served as Corporate Secretary until 2005. Lucretia and Herman traveled to 53 different countries and made friends all over the world.
Lucretia is survived by her sons, David (Caty) Smith of Lewisville; Douglas Smith of Bedford; Randall Smith of Grand Prairie; Todd Williamson of A Coruña, Spain; her two grandchildren Jordan Smith and Andrew (Haleigh) Johnson; her two great-grandchildren Hadleigh and Alexander; her sister-in-law, Karen Burney; her brothers-in-law Thomas and Larry (Wanda) Williamson; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Lucretia is predeceased by her father Dub, mother Alla Mae, husband Herman, brother William and son Edward.
