Lucinda Martinez passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the young age of 63. She was born on April 28, 1962 in Weslaco, Texas, to Genaro Martinez and Conception Delia Vasquez.
After moving from Weslaco, she spent most of her childhood in Colorado. As a young adult she made her way back to Texas finding her career path in the medical field where she had over 35 years’ experience doing what she loved. She was known throughout the industry as “A Hard Worker” and was Employee of the Year just a few years ago. There is nothing she loved more than her family. Being around her grandchildren and daughter brought her the most joy in life. There wasn’t a day that went by when she wasn’t showing off a picture or updating her co-workers about her family and their activities.
Lucinda is survived by her partner, Vincent Ortiz; her daughter, Monique Masters (spouse – Jason); Four Grandchildren, Brooke and Jackson Masters, Ava and Koa Ortiz. She is also survived by her father, Genaro Martinez; two half-brothers; Dan Martinez and Carlo Martinez; two stepsons, Vincent Ortiz, Jr. (spouse – Kenna) and Erik Ortiz (spouse – Yvonne); her niece Alicia Martinez; and Nephews Glen Martinez, Jr., and Christopher Martinez; Mark Walker; and her work family that she adored.
Lucinda is preceded in death by her mother, Conception Delia Vasquez; her brothers Genaro Martinez, Jr. and Glen Martinez; and numerous aunts and uncles for whom she cared deeply.
Lucinda already missed and forever remembered. Her love, laughter and spontaneous comments are something everyone will cherish. There was nothing she wouldn’t do to help those she cared about. We are all better people having Lucinda in our lives.
May she rest in peace, knowing she is now in the Lord’s loving arms.
