Lonny Ekstrand, age 87, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026. He was born on November 17, 1938, in Grelton, Ohio. Lonny was preceded in death by his parents, John S. Ekstrand and Mary C. Ekstrand and his brother James M. Ekstrand.

Lonny was a hardworking and dedicated man whose life was defined by his strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. Over the years, he built a reputation as a skilled, self taught machinist and antique car restorer. He worked as a supervisor at Campbell Soup Company and later at Miller Brewery, where he was known for his leadership, reliability, and commitment to excellence. In addition to his professional career, Lonny was also a proud business owner and entrepreneur who took great pride in his work.

Beyond his accomplishments, Lonny will be remembered most for the love he had for his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Lonny shared 65 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Barbara. Together they built a life centered on family, loyalty, and love.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Barbara; his two adoring children; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.

Lonny was known to many as a wonderful husband, father, friend, and most lovingly as “Pa.” His kindness, wisdom, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Lonny’s legacy is one of hard work, devotion to family, and a life well lived.
