Linda Kay Smith earned her eternal wings on August 10, 2026, and she is dancing in the clouds that she enjoyed watching daily. Born July 14, 1941, she was the daughter of Harry and Wordna Pierce. Linda married her Highschool Sweetheart, Harlon E. Smith, on February 9. 1957. They had a wonderful 69 years together and raised two beautiful daughters, Debra and D’Ann in the DFW area.
Linda’s number one priority was to take care of her family. However, she was also a member of the Trinity Art Guild and was a very talented Watercolor and Oil artist. She earned her Psychology Degree from UNT Denton and was fascinated by helping individuals if the opportunity ever presented itself.
Linda was preceded in death by both her parents and her oldest daughter Debra. She is survived by her loving husband Harlon, daughter D’Ann, brother-in-law Max Smith (Sue), two nieces Penni Jones, Terri Holiday (Ray) and their families, son-in-law David Consolver (Janet), and close family friend Terry Phillips Slattery (Herb). The family wants to say a special THANK YOU to Karen Coleman and Bedford Estates Staff members for the loving care they provided to Linda over the past 18 months.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Lucas Funeral Home 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst, Texas on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Linda’s name to the Friends of Hurst Public Library or to a pet related charity of your choice.
